At SHADES OF BLUE, student success is measured by more than participation. It is measured by progress, persistence, and the pathways our students pursue after being introduced to careers in aviation, aerospace, and STEAMD++.
From the time students first express interest in aviation and aerospace, SHADES OF BLUE works to help them stay connected to educational opportunities, industry mentors, hands-on experiences, and career pathways. Our goal is to help students see what is possible, understand how to get there, and continue moving forward toward meaningful futures in the aviation and aerospace workforce.
SHADES OF BLUE alumni have gone on to pursue careers across the airline industry, aerospace companies, engineering fields, and NASA-related career paths.
These accomplishments reflect the heart of our mission: introducing students to opportunity, supporting them through their educational journey, and helping prepare them for placement within aviation, aerospace, and related industries.
SHADES OF BLUE students and alumni have pursued opportunities with major airlines, aerospace companies, and aviation organizations, including NASA, United Airlines, American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, JetBlue, SkyWest Airlines, NetJets, Jeppesen, Boeing, and Lockheed Martin.
These successes represent students who moved from early exposure and interest to real-world achievement in aviation and aerospace careers.
The aviation and aerospace industries need skilled, prepared, and inspired professionals. SHADES OF BLUE helps meet that need by introducing students to career opportunities early, connecting them with mentors and educators, and helping them build the confidence, knowledge, and experience needed to pursue long-term success.
Each student success strengthens the pipeline. Each career placement shows what can happen when students are given access, guidance, encouragement, and the opportunity to explore what is possible.
To date, SHADES OF BLUE has documented 28 student successes, with more to come. Our final measure of success is when students find a job in the field they were seeking.
